Welcome ALL volunteers! Spread the word about the Prison Book Project; tell others you know who may also want to help. You may know someone who has a loved one, friend or relative in prison that can benefit by overcoming their feelings of helplessness and disconnect. Students can earn credit towards Bright Futures Scholarships, gain important life experiences and learn the intrinsic emotional reward of reaching out to another person by giving one’s time and effort to help uplift others. If you haven't come by to volunteer in awhile, please stop by and join us! If you have never volunteered, please come by and get a brief orientation and help us out. We receive hundreds of letters a month from prisoners in need of basic reading and educational material. We are always in need of dictionaries, language materials (learning Spanish), GED books and African-American history and interest books. Call Scott, Lauren or Dale at 850-453-6774.
